She holds Technical Certificate in Executive Secretariat (1994 - Vocational high school). Since 1993 she took many internships in governmental companies, financial institutions, and in the engineering department at a state-owned power distribution enterprise in Brazil. She holds B.Sc in Computer Science from the Federal University of Mato Grosso (1998), and hold a Postgraduation Certificate (Associate Degree in the US) in Computers and Education from the Federal University of Lavras (2003), a Master in Computer Science from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (2005) and took her Ph.D. in Information Science and Technology from the Centre for Informatics and Systems of the University of Coimbra - CISUC (2012) and a postdoctoral in Informatics from PUC-Minas (2017). She holds teaching experience at the vocational and higher education level in Brazil for more than ten years, four years in the US, and one year in Portugal (Professional Degree Training). As a researcher, she is interested in the interdisciplinary domains of Computer Science Education and Digitality. Her main research subjects include teaching/learning programming (teaching practices, learning contexts, motivational support, and drop-out prevention), STEM, lifelong learning, and digital literacy. Recently she got interested in research regarding digital humanities and educational data processing. Since 2022 she works in the United Kingdom.
