Alice graduated with a degree in Social Science from the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG). During her time as an undergraduate student, Alice dedicated herself to research topics in social inequality and stratification. At Stanford, she examined which fields of study affirmative action students graduated in at the undergraduate level in public universities in Brazil. Currently, Alice is a PhD student in Education at the University of Edinburgh. Her research examines the effects of socioeconomic characteristics on the internationalisation of higher education and its consequences for educational inequality, through the analysis of the Science Without Borders Program.
