Professor Isak Froumin will provide a brief overview of the current state of the Russian education - main figures and facts, Soviet education legacy of equality of education, as well as discuss the current situation with equality and policy response.

About Isak Froumin
Professor Isak Froumin has been the Head of the Institute of education at the National Research University “Higher School of Economics” in Moscow (Russia) – first graduate school of education in Russia – since 2006. Beginning his career as a school principal and professor at the Kransnoyarskiy National University, Prof. Frumin’s portfolio also included Leading Expert in Educational Field at the Moscow Branch of World Bank, and the Advisor to the Minister of Education and Science of Russian Federation. While serving as the Head of the Institute of education he helped to prepare a new socio-economic development strategy for the Russian Federation (Education part) from 2016 till 2018. He is a fellow of the International Academy of Education His interests include development of higher education systems, patterns of education development in countries with transitional economies, educational policies, educational and life trajectories.
