Lara Simielli is a Professor at the School of Education of University of São Paulo (FE-USP) and a Researcher at the Center of Politics and Economics of the Public Sector at Getulio Vargas Foundation (CEPESP-FGV). Lara holds a MA and a PhD in Public Administration and Government from Getulio Vargas Foundation (Fundação Getulio Vargas – EAESP/FGV). Her research interests include social movements and advocacy coalitions, educational equity, and design, implementation and evaluation of public policies. Her prior experience includes working at UNESCO Brazil, at the Government of the State of São Paulo (Department of Education and Department of Planning and Management), and at academic positions as a researcher and professor. Lara also worked as a consultant in education and social policy for non-governmental organizations and governments in Brazil, including the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).
