Andre Raabe is a Visiting Scholar at the Graduate School of Education, affiliated with the Lemann Center for Educational Entrepreneurship and Innovation in Brazil. His research is focused on the ways that constructionist design-based learning activities support the development of computational thinking in hands-on environments. The goals include researching: (i) the potential of Educational FabLabs and Maker Spaces; (ii) Constructionist design of learning activities; and (iii) the nature and scope of Computational Thinking and how to support its development in young students. Andre has a PhD in Technology in Education from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (2005) and a Masters in Computer Science from Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (2000). He is a researcher at the Applied Computing Master Program and Graduate Program in Education at Univali (Itajaí Valley University, Santa Catarina, Brazil).
