The National Council of Education Secretaries (Consed) began its 5th Extraordinary Meeting this Thursday (6) in Vitória, Espírito Santo. The event, held in partnership with Stanford Lemann Center, continued through Friday (7).
The host is the State Secretary of Education of Espírito Santo, Vitor de Angelo, who, alongside Zezinho Sobral—President of Consed and State Secretary of Education of Sergipe—welcomed the other state secretaries and led the event’s opening session.
Over the two days of programming, the secretaries are discussing topics such as Civic Education in the Age of Social Media: Teaching Students to Distinguish Fact from Fiction, Learning Recovery: Best Practices and Lessons Learned, as well as a plenary session on Artificial Intelligence, Civic Education, and Learning Recovery. The agenda also includes best practices for Vocational and Technical Education (VTE) and strategies aimed at improving student performance and reducing inequalities.
The meeting brings together state education secretaries from across the country and reinforces Consed’s commitment to strengthening public education policies, promoting the exchange of experiences, and seeking innovative solutions to the challenges of Brazilian education.
