
About Miguel Ribeiro
Miguel Ribeiro (Carlos Miguel Silva Ribeiro) holds a degree in Mathematics from the University of Beira Interior (Portugal), a Master’s in Pure Mathematics from the University of Coimbra (Portugal), and both a Master’s and Ph.D. in Mathematics Education from the University of Huelva (Spain). He completed three postdoctoral fellowships (at UNESP – Rio Claro; the University of Stavanger – Norway; and the University of Lisbon) and has been a professor at UNICAMP since 2016. He received the Janet Duffin Fund Award and Lecture (2020) from the British Society for Research into Learning Mathematics. Over the past 20 years, he has dedicated himself to research and the training of mathematics teachers and those who teach mathematics in various countries (Portugal, Spain, Mexico, Chile, USA, Italy, Norway), gaining extensive experience in teacher education and consultancy contexts. He developed an innovative approach that enhances training outcomes by focusing on mathematical quality. He is the founder of the CIEspMat research and training group.
