About the presentation
Teachers working in multiple schools is a common phenomenon in Brazil, despite its negative effects on teachers’ health and well-being, job performance, and their students’ learning. In this context, “Teacher work in multiple schools in Brazil: mapping and understanding the phenomenon” is an ongoing research project that aims to investigate how teacher work in multiple schools is distributed in the country and what contributes to its occurrence. In this presentation, Gabriela Moriconi, the research coordinator, will explore some of the research findings based on Brazilian School Census data analysis and on case studies in state secretaries of education, discussing how they may contribute to the phenomenon's comprehension and to public policies to address it.
