About the project
The presentation will explore the development of the PED Brasil Network, focusing on how it established itself as a community of learning and practice among university-based teacher educators. This collaboration has led to innovations within their own undergraduate programs (licenciaturas), to the development of a Professional Master's Network in Math and Science, and to the widespread offering of a specialization course for public school teachers across the country. The presentation will also discuss the key role played by partnerships with the nonprofit sector and public-sector funding agencies, including the pivotal support of BNDES to the project. Finally, we will discuss the ongoing efforts of Instituto Canoa and the Lemann Center to partner directly with state and municipal education departments, developing long-term, stable teacher-training capacity within their internal structure.
