Mila Molina is the co-founder and current Executive Director of Instituto Canoa, a non-profit organization committed to supporting and offering excellent teacher education programs in Brazil. Canoa is responsible for the development and implementation of PED Brasil - a teacher specialization course offered to math and science
Molina earned her master’s degree from the University of Michigan in the Educational Leadership and Policy Program, where she focused her studies on Teacher Education. She also conducted research on the Clinical Rounds, the University of Michigan initial teacher preparation program. She also served as coordinator of professional development programs at K-12 schools and at the Lemann Foundation. Her main interest is to understand how policy and teacher preparation programs act in order to bridge the gap between the university and k-12 schools and what is the potential impact these policies have on teacher effectiveness.
