Cristian Cox is a Professor of the Faculty of Education at the Universidad Diego Portales. Graduate in Sociology (Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile) and Doctor in Sociology (University of London). At the undergraduate level, he collaborates with the subjects related to Educational System and Public Policies. At the postgraduate level, he teaches both the doctorate and the master's degree in educational leadership and management. He directs the Technical Secretariat of the Teaching Strategy for Latin America and the Caribbean of UNESCO-OREALC. His research topics are educational policy, curriculum, teacher training and citizenship education. In this last area, he participates in the Project Advisory Committee, of the International Civic and Citizenship Education Study 2016, of the IEA.
