Karen Hoshino

Born in Japan and raised across Latin America—spending time in Nicaragua, Ecuador, and primarily Brazil—Karen was shaped by a multilingual and multicultural environment. Her past academic interests focus on international student mobility, ethnicity, and race in education and international schools. Her recent interests revolve around investigating AI policies in higher education institutions across the U.S. and Brazil, examining how these policies reflect broader socio-political and geographical contexts.

Alice Dias Lopes

Alice graduated with a degree in Social Science from the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG). During her time as an undergraduate student, Alice dedicated herself to research topics in social inequality and stratification. At Stanford, she examined which fields of study affirmative action students graduated in at the undergraduate level in public universities in Brazil. Currently, Alice is a PhD student in Education at the University of Edinburgh.
