Heitor is a PhD student in International Comparative Education at the Graduate School of Education, studying the role of Nonprofits and Civil Society Organizations in promoting education reform around the world. Some of his current research projects involve investigating the factors associated with reforms focused on creating new organizational structures around the globe and mapping changes in the engagement of Brazilian Civil Society Organizations with education reform. Prior to Stanford, Heitor was a member of the founding faculty of the São Paulo campus of Avenues: The World School, where he taught English and Hight Intensity Practice Writing. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and Educational Studies with a Minor in French from Swarthmore College, where he also worked as a Civic Education and Engagement Fellow.
