Cecilia Machado is an Assistant Professor at the Graduate School of Economics of Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV EPGE). She received her PhD degree at Columbia in 2010. Her areas of interest include labor economics, econometrics and applied microeconomics. Cecilia has done research on program evaluations and estimation of treatment effects, and on gender differences in the labor market, and family formation and dissolution. She is currently working on the evaluation of conditional cash transfers, and on how to disentangle cash and conditions apart in the evaluation health, education and economic self-sufficiency outcomes of targeted beneficiaries. She joined IZA as a Research Affiliate in August 2010 and became a Research Fellow in July 2017.
