Before joining the Lemann Center at Stanford, Ana Luiza Almeida was a Coordinator at MegaEdu, where she assisted the central government in implementing a national evidence-based strategy to connect all schools to high-speed internet. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she worked at Vozes da Educaçao, producing reports about how policymakers deal with that situation. Before that, she was a specialist in the full-time school program at the Department of Education of Minas Gerais, where she monitored program development in the schools.
Ana Luiza was part of the first cohort of Ensina Brasil, a Teach for All Network member. As part of the program, she taught Portuguese Language at a middle and high school in Campo Grande, Mato Grosso do Sul.
Ana Luiza holds a Bachelor's degree in International Relations from Universidade de Brasília (2016) and a specialist title in School Management from USP/ESALQ. Currently, she is a Master's student at Stanford.
