Alause da Silva Pires is an Analyst in Science and Technology at the Brazilian Federal Agency for the Support and Evaluation of Graduate Education (CAPES), where she works with the evaluation of graduate programs in Brazil. From 2009 to 2016, she’s had different posts at CAPES' Evaluation Board, the last one was being the Manager of the Professional Master's Program Evaluation Department. She holds Bachelor's degrees in Biomedicine (2007) at Federal University of Goias and a Master's degree in Gerontology (2010) at Catholic University of Brasilia. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Informatics in Education at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul and her research focus is the Brazilian system for the evaluation of scientific journals and its influence in scientific production in the country.
