Iona is a 2013 Lemann Fellow at the Stanford University Graduate School of Education innovation, holding a master's degree in Policy, Organization, and Leadership in Education. Iona focuses on innovation and technology for scalable, sustainable, and high impact on solutions for social inequality. Iona holds a B.A in Psychology from PUC-Rio, M.A in Psychology and Family Therapy from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, a degree in French civilization from Sorbonne University, an MBA from FGV-Rio. She is a recipient of the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development Fellowship and was granted the Lemann Foundation Start-Ed'14 Award for Entrepreneurship in Education Technology as a co-founder of a computational thinking platform. Iona served at Silicon Valley-based startup for several years and has taught at the Palo Alto Unified School District and at the Menlo Park City School district. Previously, Iona worked in the public sector as a strategic project manager for the State of Rio de Janeiro, increasing investment and managing PPPs, dedicated to making a social impact on a large scale.
